Padel on Park Startbaan

Welcome to the special Padel page of LTC Startbaan

Padel is the fastest growing sport in the Netherlands and we are therefore pleased that two beautiful padel courts have been constructed at our tennis park in 2021. We have noticed that more and more tennis members are using these courts and that the 'Padel community' is also growing within our tennis association. This is partly because Padel is not only fun for experienced players, but can be played at any level.

Do I need to have my own racket?

Not necessarily, when booking you can also indicate whether you want to rent a racket. The costs are €2.50 per racket. Or you can rent it on site at the bar. Balls cannot be rented and can only be purchased at the bar. However, we advise you to purchase a padel racket as a premium member. From €70 you can get a great (starter) racket at Rojo Racketsports. As an association, we also regularly have association actions with this supplier.

Can I play in bad weather?

Well, that's the great thing about Padel. If the tennis courts are flooded in bad weather conditions, you can in principle play as usual at Padel. The rainwater is properly drained through an ingenious drainage system. Additional advantage: you are also less bothered by the wind. Only in the event of a heavy downpour or thunderstorm is it better to put a p(l)as in place.

Are lessons also taught by a Padel trainer at our Park?

Of course. In fact, we have one of the best trainers in the Netherlands at our park: Zar Lasahido. Zar teaches beginning and advanced padel players and can be reached via padel@parkstartbaan.nl. This can be from a single lesson to a package of 10 lessons covering all strokes and situations. Experience shows that a group size of 4 players works best for training. You can also find more information about this on the Park Startbaan website. Fun fact: Zar is now also part of the national Padel team of Indonesia!

Can I participate in tournaments and/or competitions?

Participation in the various padel competitions (spring, summer, winter) is offered under the flag of Park Startbaan. Padel is now also annually on the menu of the Royal Coster Diamonds Open Runway Tournament.
