Vrijwilligers aan het woord

In de afgelopen periode was er steeds een bestuurslid aan het woord geweest. Vanaf nu geven we steeds het woord aan een vrijwilliger. Vandaag is Olav Fritschy van de sponsorcommissie aan de beurt.

 

Hallo allemaal,

Met mijn vriendenteam speel ik al vele jaren met veel plezier bij LTC Startbaan, waaronder de voorjaarscompetitie op zaterdag. Naast tennis kan ik me sportief ook prima uitleven op de racefiets en loop ik graag een rondje op een van de golfbanen hier in de buurt. 
 
Sinds 2 jaar heb ik meer tijd voor vrijwilligerswerk voor Participe Amstelland/ANWB Automaatje. En sindsdien heb ik samen met Patrick van Dommelen, Marcel Wegloop en Han Schooneman zitting in de Sponsorcommissie (SC) van LTC Startbaan. Als nieuw team bouwen we voort op het beleid van de vorige SC waarbij we de sponsorbijdragen duurzaam willen continueren en zo mogelijk uitbreiden. 

Vanuit de SC ben ik de contactpersoon voor het bestuur. En ervaar veel enthousiasme en energie van alle vrijwilligers bij de voorbereidingen en uitvoering van de diverse clubactiviteiten. Ook voor bestaande en nieuwe sponsoren zijn deze initiatieven van belang om hun binding met onze mooie vereniging verder te versterken.

Agenda mei en juni

De maand april is inmiddels achter de rug. Ladder en toss inclusief de Americano lopen inmiddels.  We zitten nu volop in de voorjaarscompetitie. In de maand mei zal daar de nadruk op liggen. 

6 juni wordt een belangrijke dag. Op deze dag zijn er maar liefst 3 toernooien: The Majors Cup jeugdtoernooi, 105 toernooi editie Roland Garros en MatchMakers toernooi. En op 6 juni is er ook de competitieafsluiting met barbecue waar alle leden welkom zijn. 

Dan is er 13 tot en met 21 juni OST. Tot slot is er de Nations Cup op 28 juni.

• 105 – Roland Garros + BBQ afsluiting competitieseizoen! 
  Op zaterdag 6 juni organiseren we de derde editie van 105 – Roland Garros. Een heerlijke middag vol tennis, competitie en gezelligheid op onze banen.  Na de wedstrijden sluiten we het competitieseizoen af zoals het hoort: met een lekkere BBQ, gezellig samen, onder een muzikale omlijsting die de sfeer er goed in houdt.
  
  Na de BBQ worden onze kampioenen van de Voorjaarscompetitie gehuldigd. Dankzij een mooie bijdrage van LTC Startbaan kunnen leden voor slechts €15 genieten van een heerlijke BBQ. Inschrijven voor 105 kan via de link hieronder.

• MatchMakers toernooi 6 juni a.s.
  Ben je nieuw bij LTC Startbaan, speel je vooral recreatief of wil je gewoon eens op een laagdrempelige manier meedoen aan een toernooi? Dan is het MatchMakers Toernooi op vrijdag 6 juni echt iets voor jou!  Bij MatchMakers hoef je geen vaste tennispartner te hebben. De teams worden ter plekke samengesteld, zodat je steeds met verschillende clubgenoten speelt. Ideaal om andere leden te leren kennen, ervaring op te doen met wedstrijden en vooral veel plezier te hebben op de baan. 
  
  Kortom: tennis, gezelligheid en nieuwe contacten in één toernooi. Naast veel sportiviteit is het dus ook een sociaal event. Daarom starten we met koffie en zorgen we bij de afsluiting voor borrelhapjes.

  Je kan je verder ook inschrijven voor de competitieafsluiting met barbecue. Deze vindt aansluitend plaats op deze dag.
  
  

• OST 13 tot en met 21 juni a.s.
  Je kan weer inschrijven voor het Open Startbaan Toernooi (OST) met NRt-500 en Padel-100, van 15 t/m 21 juni met voorweekeinde van 13 en 14 juni.
  
  

Met de ongediertebestrijder PREVOX en tennisschool The Majors als hoofdsponsors gaan we er in 2026 weer een sprankelend toernooi van maken. 

Het NR-toernooi is dit jaar weer een NRt-500 en een daaraan gekoppeld Categorie-2 toernooi voor ranglijstspelers. Voor het Open Toernooi tennis geldt dat de singles worden gespeeld op basis van actuele rating en de dubbels en gemengd dubbels spelen we in de gebruikelijke sterkte-categorieën van 2 t/m 8, met apart de categorieën 6-35+ en 7-35+. 

De dubbels in het Open Toernooi worden gespeeld vanuit poultjes. Het Padeltoernooi is een KNLTB P-100 toernooi in de volgende categorieën Padel P 100, 1-3 (HD-DD). Vervolgens zijn er dubbels en gemengd dubbels in de categorieën 4-5, 6-7 en 8-9.

Voor het open tennistoernooi geldt dat je maximaal voor 2 nummers in kunt schrijven. Het is ook mogelijk om aan tennis èn padel mee te doen, maar dan kan je bij tennis maar voor één nummer inschrijven.

• Nations Cup 28 juni a.s.
  Op zaterdag 28 juni organiseren we alweer de 3e editie van de Nations Cup bij LTC Startbaan – een dag vol tennis, teamspirit en gezelligheid! Na het grote succes van vorig jaar, met stralend weer en fantastische wedstrijden, belooft het dit jaar opnieuw een topeditie te worden. 

Stel een landenteam samen en vertegenwoordig jouw land. Creativiteit, vlaggen en nationale outfits worden aangemoedigd! Je kunt je inschrijven als team van 4 of 5 personen, maar ook individuele inschrijving is mogelijk: wij helpen je dan aan een passend team.

Resultaten enquête blaashal
De enquête over het gebruik van de blaashal is 36 keer ingevuld door leden van LTC Startbaan. Van deze groep hebben 28 mensen aangegeven interesse te hebben in een betaalde activiteit.

Interesse in activiteiten
De belangstelling voor de verschillende activiteiten is als volgt:

• Wintercompetitie voor senioren op zondagmiddag. 
  18 leden zijn geïnteresseerd om hieraan deel te nemen. We gaan er van uit dat dit aantal nog zal stijgen als we dit gaan organiseren.
• Ochtendtoss
  13 leden willen hieraan meedoen. We zijn nog op zoek naar een organisator.
• Spelen in een groepje of met een competitieteam
  17 leden hebben hun interesse hiervoor aangegeven.

Keuze en planning
Op basis van deze resultaten heeft LTC Startbaan besloten de  beide overdekte banen als volgt te reserveren:

• Zondagmiddag (13.00–16.00 uur): senioren wintercompetitie
• Zondagochtend (10.00–13.00 uur): juniorencompetitie
• Woensdagavond (19.00–22.00 uur): verschillende activiteiten, zoals
  • spelen in groepjes of met competitieteams
  • tossavond
  • ballenkanon-sessies
  • per uur afhangen

Dank en vervolgstappen
We bedanken alle respondenten voor hun waardevolle input. Hiermee kunnen we verdere stappen zetten. Er hebben zich inmiddels 6 mensen aangemeld voor een Wintercommissie die gaat helpen bij de planning en invulling van deze uren.  Gelukkig kunnen we ook op heel wat mensen rekenen die willen helpen met de opbouw van de blaashal.

Vrijwilligers 

Nieuwe vrijwilligers
We verwelkomen Henny Denters als vrijwilliger Old Stars. Zij is al begonnen en we wensen haar succes! Hiermee zijn de OldStars op dit moment van voldoende vrijwilligers voorzien.

Vrijwilligers gezocht
LTC Startbaan blijft continu op zoek naar vrijwilligers en momenteel zoeken we onder meer naar de volgende functies:

• Penningmeester Financiën.
  Het bestuur kan niet zonder een penningmeester. Op dit moment wordt gekeken naar uitbesteding van onderdelen van de administratie waardoor het proces van afhandelen van facturen en het zorgdragen van betalingen aanmerkelijk minder bewerkelijk wordt. Het via KNLTB.Club factureren en innen van de contributie levert onder meer een flinke tijdsbesparing op. Een taak blijft het samen met de accountant verzorgen van de jaarcijfers. Qua tijdsbeslag denken wij aan gemiddeld 2 à 3 uur per week. Heb je enige affiniteit met financiële zaken en belangstelling voor een bestuursfunctie aarzel dan niet en neem dan contact met de huidige a.i. penningmeester Mirjam Groenland penningmeester@ltcstartbaan.nl . Zij kan meer informatie verstrekken of er kan een afspraak worden gemaakt voor een oriënterend gesprek.
  
  
• Lid Communicatiecommissie.
  Heb jij enig verstand van social media (FaceBook en Instagram)? Kom dan de communicatiecommissie versterken. Tijdsbeslag in overleg.
  
  
• Jeugdcommissie (JC).
  Vrijwilligers nodig voor competitiedagen en toernooien. Tijdsbeslag in overleg en variabel.
  
  
• Feestcommissie.
  Feest mee bij LTC Startbaan! Tijdens het tennisseizoen organiseren we allerlei gezellige feesten en activiteiten. Denk hierbij aan de afsluiting van de competitie, een feestavond tijdens het OST en een feestavond tijdens de clubkampioenschappen. Deze activiteiten zijn gezellig, maar het valt nog leuker te maken. Met een Feestcommissie gaat dat vast lukken. Wil jij hieraan bijdragen en samen met anderen zorgen voor onvergetelijke momenten op de club?  Lijkt het je leuk om mee te helpen organiseren? Meld je dan nu aan voor de feestcommissie en samen maken we er een topseizoen van! Tijdsbeslag in overleg en variabel.
  
  
• Clubkampioenschappen
  Help mee bij de clubkampioenschappen van LTC Startbaan! De TC organiseert al jaren de clubkampioenschappen en dit jaar zijn deze van 22 tot en met 29 augustus. Dit is altijd een hele gezellige week, waarbij veel mooie en spannende wedstrijden worden gespeeld. Lijkt het je leuk om mee te helpen en heb je mogelijk ook ideeën hoe we de clubkampioenschappen nog gezelliger kunnen maken, dan horen we dat graag. Lijkt het je leuk om te helpen? Meld je dan nu aan en samen maken we er een onvergetelijk toernooi van!

In recent editions, a board member has always taken the floor. From now on, we'll be handing the microphone to one of our volunteers. Today, it's the turn of Olav Fritschy from the sponsorship committee.

Hello everyone,

I've been playing at LTC Startbaan with my friends' team for many years now, including the spring competition on Saturdays, and I love every minute of it. Besides tennis, I also enjoy getting out on my road bike and playing the occasional round on one of the golf courses nearby.

For the past two years I've had more time for volunteering, including work for Participe Amstelland/ANWB Automaatje. During that time, I've joined the Sponsorship Committee (SC) together with Patrick van Dommelen, Marcel Wegloop and Han Schooneman. As a new team, we're building on the work of the previous SC, with the aim of sustaining our sponsorship contributions on a long-term basis and expanding them where possible.

Within the SC, I act as the point of contact with the board. I'm continually struck by the enthusiasm and energy of all our volunteers as they prepare for and carry out the club's various activities. These initiatives also matter to existing and new sponsors, helping to strengthen their connection with our wonderful club.

Diary – May and June

April is behind us, and the ladder, toss and Americano are all well underway. We're now in the thick of the spring competition, which will be the main focus throughout May.

The 6th of June is shaping up to be a big day – no fewer than three tournaments are taking place: The Majors Cup junior tournament, the 105 Tournament Roland Garros edition, and the MatchMakers Tournament. There's also the end-of-competition barbecue on the 6th, to which all members are welcome.

Then from the 13th to the 21st of June we have the OST, and finally the Nations Cup on the 28th of June.

• 105 – Roland Garros + BBQ to Close the Competition Season

On Saturday the 6th of June we're hosting the third edition of 105 – Roland Garros. A brilliant afternoon of tennis, competition and good company on our courts.

After the matches, we'll be rounding off the competition season in style with a barbecue – good food, great atmosphere, and a musical backdrop to keep the mood going. Following the BBQ, the winners of the Spring Competition will be presented with their awards. Thanks to a generous contribution from LTC Startbaan, members can enjoy the BBQ for just €15.

• MatchMakers Tournament – 6 June

Are you new to LTC Startbaan, do you play mainly for fun, or would you simply like to take part in a tournament without any pressure? Then the MatchMakers Tournament on Friday the 6th of June is just the thing for you!

With MatchMakers, you don't need a regular partner. Teams are put together on the day, so you'll get to play alongside different clubmates throughout the afternoon – a great way to meet other members, get a taste of competitive play, and most importantly have a good time on the court.

In short: tennis, fun and new friendships all in one tournament. We'll kick things off with coffee, and there'll be drinks and nibbles to close. Put the 6th of June in your diary – 13:30 to 17:30 at the latest. For more information and to sign up, head to the MatchMakers Tournament link.

You can also sign up for the end-of-competition barbecue, which takes place straight afterwards on the same day.

• OST – 13 to 21 June

Registration is now open for the Open Startbaan Tournament (OST), featuring NRt-500 tennis and Padel-100.

The main week runs from the 15th to the 21st of June, with a preliminary weekend on the 13th and 14th.

With pest control specialists PREVOX and tennis school The Majors as headline sponsors, we're aiming to make the 2026 edition another sparkling event.

The NR tournament will once again be an NRt-500, with a linked Category-2 event for ranked players. In the Open Tennis Tournament, singles are drawn according to current rating, while doubles and mixed doubles are played in the usual strength categories (2 through 8), with separate categories for 6-35+ and 7-35+. Doubles in the Open Tournament are played in groups.

The Padel Tournament is a KNLTB P-100 event in the following categories: Padel P 100, 1–3 (men's doubles/women's doubles), followed by doubles and mixed doubles in categories 4–5, 6–7 and 8–9.

In the Open Tennis Tournament, you may enter a maximum of two events. It's also possible to enter both tennis and padel, but in that case you may only enter one tennis event.

• Nations Cup – 28 June

On Saturday the 28th of June we're hosting the third edition of the Nations Cup at LTC Startbaan – a day full of tennis, team spirit and great company! After last year's hugely successful event with brilliant weather and fantastic matches, this year promises to be another top edition.

Put together a national team and represent your country. Creativity, flags and national outfits are very much encouraged! You can enter as a team of four or five, or sign up individually and we'll find you a suitable team.

Libema Open Club Offer

Air Dome Survey – Results

The survey on use of the air dome was completed 36 times by LTC Startbaan members. Of those, 28 indicated an interest in paid activities.

Interest in activities was as follows:

• Winter competition for seniors on Sunday afternoons – 18 members expressed an interest. We expect this number to grow once we start organising it.
• Morning toss – 13 members would like to take part. We're still looking for an organiser.
• Playing in a group or with a competition team – 17 members have shown interest.

Decisions and planning

Based on these results, LTC Startbaan has decided to reserve the two covered courts as follows:

• Sunday afternoon (13:00–16:00): seniors winter competition
• Sunday morning (10:00–13:00): junior competition
• Wednesday evening (19:00–22:00): various activities, including group play or competition team sessions, toss evenings, ball machine sessions, and hourly court hire

We'd like to thank everyone who filled in the survey – your input is invaluable and helps us move forward with concrete plans. Six people have already signed up for a Winter Committee to help with the planning and scheduling. And we're pleased to say we can also count on plenty of helping hands for putting up the air dome itself.

A warm welcome to Henny Denters, who is joining as a volunteer with the Old Stars. She's already got stuck in – best of luck, Henny! The Old Stars volunteer team is now fully staffed.

Volunteers wanted

LTC Startbaan is always on the lookout for volunteers. Here are the roles we're currently trying to fill:

• Treasurer. The board simply can't function without a treasurer. We're currently exploring outsourcing parts of the administration, which will significantly reduce the workload around processing invoices and managing payments. Billing and collecting membership fees via KNLTB.Club will save considerable time. The main remaining task is preparing the annual accounts together with the accountant. We estimate the time commitment at around two to three hours per week on average. If you have an interest in financial matters and fancy a board role, please get in touch with our acting treasurer Mirjam Groenland at penningmeester@ltcstartbaan.nl. She can provide more information or arrange an informal introductory chat.
  
  
• Communications Committee member. Got a feel for social media – Facebook and Instagram in particular? Come and strengthen the communications team. Time commitment to be discussed.
  
  
• Youth Committee (JC). Volunteers needed for competition days and tournaments. Time commitment flexible and to be discussed.
  
  
• Events Committee. Throughout the tennis season we organise all sorts of fun events – the end-of-competition party, an evening during the OST, and an evening during the club championships. These are always enjoyable occasions, but there's plenty of room to make them even better. If you'd like to help create some truly memorable moments at the club, we'd love to have you on board. Time commitment flexible and to be discussed.
  
  
• Club Championships. The club championships run from the 22nd to the 29th of August this year, and as always it's set to be a brilliant week of great matches and good company. If you'd like to help out – and perhaps have ideas for making it even more of an occasion – we'd love to hear from you. Time commitment: primarily the week of the championships, with further involvement flexible and to be discussed.
