Does your child also want to play competitively?

Playing matches is the best way to master tennis. The youth competition is designed in such a way that children play with and against peers who are approximately as strong as they are. The dimensions of the playing field have also been adjusted.

During the spring and autumn competitions, competitive tennis is offered for every level and age category.

Participate? There is a competition in the spring and autumn. Everyone is welcome to participate, novice and experienced players. The trainers will place you in a team that suits your level.

Each competition team plays 7 times on Sunday (spring competition) and/or 5 times on Sunday (autumn competition) against teams from other clubs. One time at Startbaan, the other time at the other club.

• Youth who play with a red, orange or green ball participate in the Tennis Kids competition. For a further explanation about the Tenniskids competition, click here. Youth who play with a yellow ball participate in the Junior competition 11-14 years or 13-17 years.

What is required of parents during the competition?

The spring and autumn competitions and all other youth activities of LTC Startbaan, including tournaments, club championships and the organization of the competition, are organized by the Youth Committee. The Youth Committee consists of a number of members who are committed to this entirely voluntarily. We cannot organize these activities without the help of the parents. The help of parents is also highly desirable during the competition. For example, with the youngest youth, parents help with setting up the nets, serving lemonade during the break and, where necessary, with counting points. Everything must be cleaned up afterwards, and we also ask parents for cooperation in this regard.

Each team is assigned a team captain. That is a parent of one of the team members. Before the competition starts there is a captain's evening where everything will be explained. Together with your child, you ensure communication within your team and with the opponents. You also ensure a pleasant reception at the club during home matches during the competition days.
